Val qualified as a Solicitor in 1976 having managed the long established Cork law firm, Barry Turnbull & Co Solicitors (est. 1964). He joined forces with Fiona Foley to form the practice of Foley Turnbull Solicitors in December 2015.

Over the past 46 years, Val has gained vast experience in a number of areas of law, principally, in the successful completion of a significant number of High Court cases for compensation for personal injuries, the completion of medical negligence claims and commercial law cases.

Val has also developed a large practice in commercial and residential conveyancing, having worked with Local Authorities, Developers, Builders and private clients.
